The Minnowburn Community Service Project is a partnership working arrangement between Challenge for Youth and The Youth Justice Agency. It was designed to provide a supported environment for young people who had offended and were identified as high risk to make a genuine contribution and service to the community.
The project facilitates individuals and small groups of young people to fulfill varying amounts of community service hours. The combination of practical contribution to the Minnowburn garden allotment and Personal Development Support aims to create the opportunity for high-risk offenders to work through personal challenges while making a worthwhile contribution to the wider community. Challenge for Youth works within its area of expertise using the outdoor environment for the purposes of Personal Development while supporting young people within the justice system to build positive relationships with the community.
