Adventure Learning: based on building relationships and engaging in a reflective learning process. Led by fully-qualified staff. Activites include hillwalking, camping and survival skills, canoeing & kayaking (training to assessment), bouldering, blow-karting, mountain biking, night-walks, adventure walks, team-building, indoor climbing, archery, abseiling and more. Skills can be gained in navigation, survival, leadership, teamwork. One day activites, overnights or longer expeditions can be designed into a programme.
Mountaineering and Expeditions: Preparatory training in the Mournes, expeditions to Ben Nevis. Run by fully-qualified Mountain Leader & experienced support staff.
Indoor Climbing: Using our state-of-the-art indoor climbing wall. Sessions are offered as part of programmes or on a pay-per-session basis.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme: CfY is an Approved Activity Provider, offering UK & Overseas Expedition Training
Drop in: Young people can make informal contact through the Youth Enquiry Service and drop-in centre in Belfast city centre. We also engage with young people who use the city centre as a recreational space through detached streetwork.
Challenge for Youth Summer Camps: Each June/July we bring together all aspects of our work into intense residential summer camps, staying in tipis in Castlewellan Forest Park.
Short Courses: Young people are supported through structured 'games' which challenge decisions and behaviour in a thought provoking way.
